PEDAL FIRE TRUCK: Fire Truck was inspired by the 1949 "sad face" pedal vehicles of yesteryear. It is nicknamed "sad face" because of the grill work which looks something between a 1949 Packard, 1949 Buick and a 1949 Oldsmobile, all which gives the impression of an upside-down smile. It is "all steel" and full "child" size. It is trimmed beautifully with a chrome windshield, chrome bell, chrome ladder bars, chrome steering wheel and chrome hub caps. Wooden ladders are hung on the rear bars, making it the perfect fantasy vehicle for any "make believe" fire. Working flashing light operates on AA batteries (not included).
Mfg. suggests this truck for children 3 to 5/6 years of age.

* The $10.00 per unit does not add up to much. We did this more as a commemorative, not only to NY but as a representation of all fire fighters, people in service (police, ambulance, nurses and doctors, ambulance, paramedics, volunteers, etc., etc., etc.) and just plain people helping people and remembering.
The money is just to let them know in NY of the support, a morale booster if you like.
To date these units have been used in several states as fund raisers, others have gone to children and grandchildren of fire fighters, some to the "big kids". One was presented to a fire fighter from his wife just to see a smile on his face for a moment, at a time when there was nothing to smile about. He served at ground zero. We understand the little fire truck is in a glass case and it is the coffee table, the license tag shows his badge #. Another was shipped to ON, Canada as a gift for a retired Captain's grandson, it had to be FDNY he said. Still another went to England, she too said her son had to have the FDNY truck and she paid $195.00 for shpping alone. A unit is on its way now to Port Moody, British Columbia, CANADA at a shipping cost of $97.00, we did help out a bit by reducing the buy price.
